The suspension on the 2024 Acura TLX achieves the ideal balance between maneuverability and comfort.

2024 Acura TLX Suspension

The Acura TLX’s front wheels have a double wishbone suspension: the same type used in Formula 1 race cars. While this design is more complex than other suspension systems, it provides several advantages, including a smoother ride on bumpy roads. This is because the double wishbone suspension doesn’t affect wheel alignment.

Another advantage of the double wishbone suspension is that it allows vehicles to keep a lower center of gravity, improving their handling. Because these suspensions allow you to independently adjust parameters such as camber and toe, drivers can optimize their vehicle’s handling for different driving styles and road conditions.

Adaptive Damper System

The Adaptive Damper System is an option for the Acura TLX that further enhances the performance of its double wishbone suspension system. When engaged, the Adaptive Damper System automatically adjusts the suspension’s parameters to provide a more comfortable ride or more precise handling.

Integrated Dynamics System

The integrated Dynamics System works in conjunction with the TLX’s engine and Adaptive Damper System to ensure you’re as comfortable when cruising down the highway as you are when you’re accelerating through winding backcountry roads. Using your touchscreen on your Acura TLX, you can choose between four different driving modes:

Comfort

Comfort mode is what you’ll likely choose for long commutes. Using a softer damper configuration, Comfort mode is designed to make your driving and riding experience feel as leisurely as possible. Comfort mode also provides the best fuel economy and reduced engine noise.

Normal

Most drivers will use normal mode in their daily commutes and when running errands. It’s a slightly stiffer ride than when in comfort mode but adds more responsive steering.

Sport

Sport mode offers a noticeable change in the TLX’s handling and throttle response. You’ll be able to confidently take corners at higher speeds and adopt a more aggressive shifting style.

Sport+

Sport+ is only available on the Acura TLX Type S trim level. It goes a step beyond the normal Sport mode and provides a higher throttle response while staying within each gear longer before shifting. It also opens up the exhaust valves, creating a pleasant sound representing its elevated performance.

Individual

With Individual mode, you’re in control. You can obtain the exact type of sportiness and comfort by altering up to five different settings, including shifting and damper parameters.
