Regular maintenance increases your Acura’s life, reduces repair costs, and allows it to perform at its best. As your Acura dealer, we want to tell you about some of the Acura maintenance we provide to keep your vehicle in great shape.

Examples of Acura Maintenance Available at Your Acura Dealer

Electrical System Repairs

Your Acura contains several miles of wiring and cables, if they were all laid out on the ground. This wiring is essential, as most of your vehicle systems depend on electricity. In addition to the wiring, there are a multitude of switches, relays, and fuses to control the electricity supply, direct it where it needs to go and protect the various systems against electrical shorts.

All these components gradually wear out, causing issues ranging from non-functioning accessories to random electrical glitches to a dead battery. This can be a major headache for any driver as electrical faults often appear to be caused by other issues. If you experience any strange behavior from your Acura systems, an electrical issue could be the problem. We’ll swiftly trace the problem and fix it.

Radiator Cap Replacement

The radiator cap controls the pressure in the cooling system. The cooling system operates under high pressure to allow the coolant to rapidly move through the engine and remove heat generated by combustion. The heat trapped inside the coolant can increase pressure in the cooling system, and the cap will briefly open to bleed off the surplus pressure.

The cap is tightly secured to the top of the radiator by two seals to ensure an airtight fit. Over time, these seals can become worn, and coolant will leak out. A leak drops the pressure in the cooling system, and you’ll see an increase in your engine temperature. We’ll examine the seals and the cap and repair or replace them.

Brake Fluid Replacement

Brake fluid provides the force that enables the braking system to work effectively. This fluid supplies the hydraulic power that forces the brake calipers against the spinning rotors so brake pads can produce friction that stops the wheels. Like all fluids, brake fluid becomes less effective as it ages, reducing the efficiency of the braking system.

Older fluid is not only less effective, but it can also overheat as it loses its heat resistance. Overheating brake fluid produces a foul chemical smell, and if the fluid gets hot enough, it will boil. This is dangerous, as overheated fluid can’t provide hydraulic power, and your brakes could fail. We’ll drain the old fluid and replace it, then we’ll check your braking system to ensure it’s undamaged.
