Activating AcuraLink
Download the app to your smartphone and register a MyAcura account. You scan the VIN barcode located on the driver’s side door jamb to activate it. You’ll be asked to enter your zip code and a 4-digit PIN for remote access, and you can then pair your smartphone to your Acura via Bluetooth.
Connectivity Packages
AcuraLink consists of four packages. These are Basic, Security, Remote, and Concierge. The last three packages are free for your first three years and then available as separate subscriptions. We’ll look closer at each package and see how it enhances your Acura experience.
Basic
This package includes your owner’s guide, information on your warning lights, and a list of maintenance codes. You can check your mileage, fuel range, and remaining oil life on the app. You’ll receive monthly vehicle health reports and instant notification regarding vehicle recalls.
You can find a destination on the app and send this information directly to your navigation system. Last-mile guidance will help you in walking to your selected destination if necessary. Roadside assistance is available 24/7/365 during your vehicle warranty period, and skilled technicians can assist you with numerous services like jump-starting, tire replacement, or lock-out assistance.
Security
This package provides services to help you if something goes wrong. The emergency call feature connects you to a live agent who will stay on the line and direct emergency services to you if needed. The automatic collision notification is triggered if your airbags deploy, and an agent will connect you to offer any assistance you require. You also receive enhanced roadside assistance like towing or repair services.
Remote
This package allows you to remote control many vehicle functions. You can start or stop your engine, lock or unlock the doors, activate cooling or heating, and find your vehicle in a crowded parking lot. You’ll receive alerts if your car alarm is triggered, your vehicle leaves an area you’ve selected, or your Acura travels faster than a pre-set speed. This package also allows your vehicle to be tracked by the authorities if it’s stolen.
Concierge
This package provides a personal concierge who can make airline, restaurant, or hotel reservations for you or provide location information directly to your phone on places of interest.
